Student Recruitment: Staff Development events

The Student Recruitment Office is organising a host of short bite-sized staff development events focusing around the recruitment of undergraduate students.  Undergraduate Student Recruitment is more critical than ever, with the introduction of higher fees for 2012, and an ever changing picture in terms of caps on student numbers. What is certain is that we are entering a time of the most intensive competition to attract the very best applicants to this University.

Who are they for?

These sessions are not just for Admissions Tutors, but for all staff who may be involved in any aspects of student recruitment – from new Heads of Departments, to administrative staff in departmental offices and services, from Admissions Tutors and outreach staff, to staff who are involved in meeting and greeting visitors during Open Days.  New staff (or staff newly involved in recruitment and admissions) will have the most to learn from these sessions – but we hope that even the most experienced staff in recruitment and admissions roles will be able to take something away from each event.

Each session will last just 45 minutes, and will focus on a particular aspect of the recruitment process, whilst giving staff the opportunity to meet with the central recruitment team, and to discuss broader issues.

Reservations

Please book your place by completing the Online Booking Form - in this instance you only need to fill in the form once and list all of the sessions you wish to attend.  The booking form will be submitted to the Staff Development Partnership.
