Course Overview

This is the essential course to get you started using your computer. The primary objective is to build your computer confidence by learning the basics to control the computer, check your email and surf the web.

This is no longer available as a taught workshop. We now offer training as a Guided IT Learning Session.       

What will I get out of this course? 

You will be able to learn about:

  • Understand basic computer terms.
  • Use the mouse, keyboard and Windows system.
  • Browse the web.
  • Check your email.
Who is it for?

Suitable for all staff.  Ideal for new computer users or those who wish to go over the basics.

Participant preparation needed?

You will need a university computer account to access the computers in the training room. If you have not got one these they can be obtained from the computer centre. Contact the Staff Development Centre if you require further assistance with this.

No prior knowledge is required.
