About the Association of University Administrators (AUA)

The Association of University Administrators (AUA) exists to advance and promote the professional recognition and development of all who work in professional services roles in higher education. It operates  a professional development scheme, runs national and regional training events, produces several publications and holds an annual conference which attracts high profile speakers.

AUA Professional Development

The AUA runs an accredited qualification the AUA Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice (Higher Education Administration and Management) (OUVA).

It also operates a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Framework

Events

The AUG supports a number of events with interests in topics ranging from 'Equality and Diversity' to 'Space' Management.

Networking - Midlands Regional Networks

The AUA Midlands Network hosts a number of regional events which are normally free to AUA members.  At present the AUA is hosting a set of regional seminars based on the themes of the CPD Framework. 

AUA Annual Conference held at Leicester 2011

Recently the Network hosted an extremely successful one-day Conference at the University of Leicester to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the AUA.

AUA at Leicester

The branch coordinator for the AUA at Leicester is Karen Bignold. Karen is looking to hold more local events, which will offer CPD and networking opportunities for staff at Leicester.

AUA Events

AUA organises an annual programme of seminars, workshops and conferences. The Annual Conference is the largest professional development conference in the HE calendar, with around 130 sessions and keynote presentations.

AUA East Midlands Regional Seminar Series - Providing Direction will be held on 25 January 2012 (12.30pm-2.00pm) University of Nottingham.  The attached poster provides details of an AUA regional seminar at the University of Nottingham which will might also be of interest to non members.  The fee for non AUA members is £25.  To book a place click here.  

The 2012 AUA Conference and Exhibition will be held on 2-4 April 2012 at the University of Manchester.

AUA Lunch n Learn 
The AUA Lunch n Learn seminar is held each year at the University of Leicester. The seminar will be free to all AUA members and to staff at Leicester.  Details of the 2012 seminar will be available later in the year.
