Who Can Claim JobSeekers' Allowance?

Job Seeker AllowanceJob Seekers' Allowance (JSA) is a benefit paid to people of working age who are not in full-time paid work and who are expected to be available for work. There are two types of Job Seekers Allowance Contribution-Based JSA and Income Based JSA. You may be entitled to either or both so it is important that you check your potential eligibility for both types.

Part-time students are eligible to claim JSA but most full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students are not eligible to claim JSA unless they meet one of the specific qualifying conditions.
