Hardship Funds
The Access to Learning Fund is the main hardship fund administered by the University and is available for home (UK) students who are experiencing financial difficulties. In exceptional circumstances, the University can refer students who do not qualify for assistance from the Access to Learning Fund to other discretionary funds.
This section gives information about:
- The Access to Learning Fund
- Eligibility, assessment and application process
- Link to downloadable application form
Students who do not meet the criteria but are in exceptional financial difficulty are encouraged to contact a Student Finance Adviser for advice. The University administers some other small, discretionary hardship funds – applications for funding will first be referred to the Access to Learning Fund but where they do not meet the qualifying criteria will be considered for other assistance where appropriate.
