Registering with a GP (General Practitioner)
We recommend that all students register with a GP in the Leicester area.   
For All Students in University Accommodation   For All Students in Private Accommodation
 
  • If you live in close proximity to the University register with the Freemen's Common Health Centre
  • If you do not live in the catchment for Freemen's Common Health Centre, you can find your closest GP's surgery at NHS Choices 
 For International Students Only

If you are in the UK on a Student Visa, you qualify for NHS Healthcare as soon as you enter the country,  providing your visa is for no less than six months duration.  You can find more information about your rights to NHS coverage at the Department of Health Website
