Silent Students Happy Homes
Are you the sort of student who revises late at night or who just fancies an early night once in a while but is always disturbed by your noisy neighbours coming home at 3am after a night out?
- Have you ever wondered who lives next door and if you could borrow that cup of sugar sometime?
This is a campaign to ensure that when living in your student house in the local community you can lead your lives in the best possible comfort. We want you to live in a safe, peaceful community, clean and tidy student house, get on with your neighbours and enjoy the area that you live in without any hassle!
Remember that whilst you are making the most of your time here at University and having a great time, other people have early morning starts and so try to respect the community you live in as best as possible!
Silent Students
- Reducing noise- asking others to return home quietly late at night, if you revel in late nights and parties watch out for the ‘SSHH’ campaign Refresher sweets giveaways after Union nights
- Respecting others in the community- get to know your neighbours you never know when it may come in handy, but it also means they’re more likely to keep an eye on your property if you’re away for a while!
Happy Homes
- Keeping the areas you live in clean and tidy – watch out for the “Blooming students” (web link) campaign where we will be giving out seeds, plants and compost for you to spruce up your front garden. Competition details to follow!
- Preparing you to move in and out of the your student house- bin collection days, recycling information, free waste removal at the end of your tenancy
- Improving relations with your neighbours. If you know your neighbours they are more likely to watch out for your house- it is recognised by the Police that areas that have neighbourhood watch schemes have less burglary.
- Making sure that your house is secure and safe in terms of insurance and preventing burglary.
