Become a Tennis Coach
We can help you take your first steps to becoming a tennis coach. And it could even be free!
United Kingdom Coaching Courses (UKCC) Level 1 & 2
The University has applied for a developmental grant from the LTA of up to £1000. We aim to help fund some students to complete the UKCC Level 1 & 2 tennis coaching course.
We are aiming to make links with local tennis clubs and primary schools and send students who have completed their Level 1 or 2 course into schools to offer tennis coaching for children, to introduce them to and increase their enjoyment of tennis.
Tennis coaching is an extremely rewarding job. The feeling of helping children to learn and accomplish new skills is fantastic. It is also great for your personal development and CV.
If you would be interested in completing the UKCC Level 1 or 2 award or already have the qualification and would like to take part in some primary school/club coaching please contact Fran Hide at firstname.lastname@example.org
Primary and Secondary Coaching Courses
We will also be running a Primary and Secondary School tennis coaching course this year.
The courses aim to provide knowledge to trainee or current teachers about coaching tennis in primary and secondary schools. Current teachers will receive a tennis equipment pack at the end of the course!
The course is open to trainee teachers on PGCE or teacher training courses, current teachers in Primary and Secondary schools, as well as anybody with an interest in coaching tennis to children.
Both courses are 3 hours long and are FREE OF CHARGE!!!
If you are interested in either of the Primary of Secondary Courses please contact Fran Hide at email@example.com to register interest.
Competition Organisers' Course
We will be running a Competition Organisers' Course this year for students and staff wishing to learn how to organise and run competitions.
The course is 3 hours long and FREE OF CHARGE!!!
It provides you with information on how to organise and run large competitions successfully. The LTA employs competition organisers in each county to run competitions and enter results onto the website. Students who complete the course are eligible to apply for such jobs.
If you are interested in becoming a Competition Organiser please contact Fran Hide at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
