Squash is a very popular and growing club with members of all abilities. Here is some more information about our club.
Student Club - Members
Membership to the squash Club is £25 for students, and £35 for staff. Squash has recently become one of the largest sports societies at the University, and this is due to its relaxed atmosphere. Members can book courts at their own will for a fee of just £1 per 45 minute session. Training sessions are free to all members.
Coaching sessions take place on wednesday 1-3 and 6-8 for beginners and intermediates, and thursday 6-8 for advanced players. All sessions are free to members and include coaching from Simon Taylor (ex-professional with a world ranking inside the top 30).
The squash club currently has a team in BUCS, where the top players get to play against other universities. Also the club has two teams in the Leicestershire Leagues, where we have been extremely successful in the past. Friendly matches for intermediate players also takes place against other universities, meaning that there is a match for everyone who is keen to play!
Our University Squash Club welcomes students, postgraduates and staff. Club nights are Tuesdays and Thursday so pop in to the Princess Road Squash Courts and say hello. Alternatively contact our Director of Squash, Simon Taylor.
