We provide opportunities for all, from social runs to more intense training on. Athletics focused members will initially meet on Wednesday but we aim to develop this as we gain members. We aim to cater for all abilities in the training sessions whether you want to compete in a fun run, lower your 10k time or simply keep fit. It is also open to those who need to improve their cardiovascular endurance which is important to many other sports such as rowing, football and netball.
For those who want to be competitive we have training advice from an England Athletics endorsed coach.
The club competes regularly with positive results in local leagues, such as Leicestershire Road Running League, and inter-university competitions such as BUCS. There have also been individual successes with two female runners in the top 3 at the Leicester 10k. We also have strong links with high quality local athletics teams which several members currently attend.
The club is serious about competitions but many members join just to keep fit and make friends. We aim to provide regular and varied social events which are always fun and friendly.
