The Men’s Rugby Union club is without doubt one of the biggest clubs at the University, with over 80 members.
The club runs three teams, who compete in the BUCS Midlands Leagues, allowing us to cater for players of all abilities; from those who have never played before, to individuals who have played county or national league level. So there definitely is a place for you!
All three teams train twice a week and there is no doubt that your skill level and ability will flourish during your time with the club as the coaching is of an excellent standard, with several of the coaches being former Leicester Tigers players.
The ambition of every player is to participate in the club’s annual Varsity Day, when a 22 man squad is assembled to take on arch rivals De Montfort University at Welford Road in front of over 5,000 paying spectators.
As well as the sporting side, there is a friendly and energetic social scene attached to the club which is important amongst any sports team. Regular social events are hosted on Wednesday nights with fancy dress socials, formal dinners and an annual tour abroad to name a few.
