For prospective members there is no better time to join the University of Leicester Men’s Football Club, as the club continues to progress towards becoming a formidable force within university football. ULFC provides players of all abilities the opportunity to proudly represent their university with 5 teams playing in the Wednesday BUCS League and the 1st XI & 2nd XI playing on a Saturday. With training held twice a week there is ample opportunity for players to develop their skills, as well as establishing themselves within the club.
One date every player will have on their calendar is the annual Varsity match which sees ULFC’S finest pit their wits against arch-rivals De Montfort University at the Walkers Stadium, home of Leicester City Football Club in front of 4000 fans. Players who fail to make the 16 man squad need not fear as every squad will taste the ‘Derby Day’ experience when ULFC welcome our rivals to ‘Fortress Stoughton’ on the club’s own Varsity Day.
As if the football wasn’t enough, the club provides a great opportunity to meet new friends and socialise, with varied socials such as Pub Golf, Christmas Parties and an annual tour to Spain. The 2011/2012 season promises to be an exciting time for the University of Leicester Football Club.
