Extensions to access

If your access to University facilities (such as the library and computer service) ends you can apply for an extension of access to these services.

Undergraduate extensions

As an undergraduate student your access to computing and library facilities will be suspended if you are:

  • studying 'without residence'
  • suspending your studies for personal, medical, academic or financial reasons

Taught postgraduate extensions

As an postgraduate student your access to computing and library facilities will be suspended if:

  • the expected 'end date' of your course has been reached

Extensions are given so that you can complete outstanding assessments. You cannot request an extension if you have already completed all outstanding pieces of work.

If your request is authorised, the length of your extension will be determined by your department based on when they expect you to have completed all outstanding work.

You are not applying to extend your University registration, only your computer and library access. Your University registration cannot be extended.
You will only be granted an extension to library and computer services if your department authorises it.
