Information on the University's approach towards the maintenance and enhancement of academic quality and standards, and resources to assist staff with the implementation of regulations and policies

Quality Assurance Agency: Higher Education Review (HER)

The University underwent a Higher Education Review undertaken by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) in February 2016.  The QAA concluded that the University met UK expectations in all key areas:

  • The setting and maintenance of the academic standards of awards .
  • The quality of student learning opportunities
  • The quality of the information about learning opportunities
  • The enhancement of student learning opportunities

The Review Team also commended the University in a number of areas;

  • The inclusive approach to the management of change which will enable the realisation of strategic priorities
  • The commitment to widening participation which promotes student inclusivity
  • The strategic approach to the professional development of students which enhances their employability
  • The continuing effective oversight of the PGR student experience

The Report of the HER is published by the QAA, and the University's Action Plan in response to the commendations, affirmations and recommendations is available.
