Complete University Guide league table announced today

Issued by University of Leicester Press Office on 24 April 2012

The University of Leicester has been cited as a UK top-20 university by another league table of universities- the fourth to accord Leicester this distinction.

The Complete University Guide out today joins The Guardian, The Times and The Times Higher Education in ranking the University as a top 20 university out of 116 institutions.

The Guide is based on data obtained from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) in nine areas including entry standards, student-staff ratios, facilities spending, graduate prospects and completion rates.

Richard Taylor, Director of Corporate Affairs and Planning said: “Although imperfect, university league tables can be helpful in helping students decide where to study. It is therefore pleasing to see the University of Leicester consistently ranked amongst the best in the country”.

The University of Leicester is ranked in the top 2% of universities in the world by both the QS World University Rankings 2011Taiwan World University Rankings and THE World University Rankings.

The University has won Times Higher Awards in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and most recently in 2011 for its work in innovation and technology. It is the only university to win five consecutive awards.
