The Office is part of the Division of Corporate Affairs and Planning.
Mission
The Press Office aims to enhance the reputation and visibility of the University through effective media communication
Objectives
-
To produce the flagship corporate magazine, LE1.
-
Provide a weekly source of news and information exchange on the web via ebulletin
-
To increase the University's positive presence in the media
-
Establish and maintain relationships with journalists
-
Use a variety of media techniques to secure media coverage: press releases, web dissemination; listings; personal contacts; feature placements

Make available to the media the University's resources as a source of expertise
-
To build relationships which promote and enable effective communication
-
To limit damage to the reputation of the University through effective communication planning and reaction
-
To provide media training and advice.
Media Communications
The office issues press releases and acts as a point of contact for media representatives wishing to engage with the University. We also assist staff in communicating with the media
Dates for The Diary
The office publicises events that are open to the public and posts details on the eBulletin Events Diary. Members of the University are encouraged to submit events that are open to people outside of their department via http://www2.le.ac.uk/ebulletin/contribute.
Information for Inaugural Lectures is prepared by the Vice-Chancellor's Office. Details appear on the eBulletin events page and on the Inaugural Lectures website.
Certain events/lectures may be suitable for extra press coverage in the form of a press release. Please send information to pressoffice@le.ac.uk after considering how your event/lecture will be of interest to the media. Click here for more information.
Photographs
Departments may book photographs of visiting speakers/events by ringing Design services on 2913. Please note there may be a charge for photography services.
Changes to Lectures/Events
You should inform the Press Office in writing or via email of any change (eg cancellation, postponement) of an event.
