Fee Setting and Programme Development Committee (FSPDC)
Terms of Reference
- To set student fees for future years, taking account of College proposals, the University’s strategic goals, and any Government directions on fee levels.
- To report as appropriate, and at least annually, to the Financial Forecasting Group, on the University’s market position on fees, and any changes in strategy for fee levels for programmes offered by the University;
- To report to the Financial Forecasting Group, as requested by that group, on the longer-term fee level assumptions to be used for the Forecasts;
- To determine appropriate policies on, and details of, fee discounts (including market-related scholarships and bursaries) put forward by Colleges. (This item does not include bursaries or student support arrangements);
- Where requested by Heads of College in the context of the development of College Plans, to provide advice on the market for and pricing of new or amended programmes, and to assist with developing and evaluating the business cases;
- To serve as the body responsible for overseeing the process for the preliminary stage of formal programme approval, to confirm the business and market viability of detailed proposals for programmes emerging from approved College Plans;
