Photography
We provide several different types of photography to support the University’s special and day-to-day needs:
- Social photography for internal and public events
- Portrait photography for noticeboards and web sites
- Photography for recording purposes such as building project progress, research findings and health and safety incidents
- Creative and illustrative photography
All our photography is now digital, created on high specification, commercial equipment.
Location and opening times
9.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
We are based on the ground floor of the Fielding Johnson Building South Wing. We have a small photographic studio.
Our charges
We are a cost recovery service and our hourly rate for photography is £38, plus any materials we use. Some of the items we produce have a fixed price, for instance, departmental portraiture for notice boards.
We are very happy to supply quotations before starting work. When you request our services please supply a valid University account code so that, when your job is complete, we can debit your account accordingly.
What you can expect
We will do our best to satisfy your requests for photography in a timely fashion. Your images will be supplied ready-to-use; properly colour-balanced and retouched and supplied in the format and size of your choice. Although we will archive your work upon completion of the job, you must file your copies safely for future use in your department. If you need us to search our archives for lost pictures we reserve to right to levy a search fee.
What we expect from you
If you have an event for which you need a photographer in attendance please give us plenty of time to organise this for you. Occasionally we would like to visit your location prior to the shoot so that we can achieve the best images for you. You might also be asked to provide us with suitable models, who have agreed to be photographed and must sign our permissions form (Word).
You must supply a University account code when you book our services so that we can recharge your account upon completion.
