Design Services is part of the Marketing Communications Office within the Division of Corporate Affairs and Planning.

We provide several integrated services to support many of the University’s visual communication needs:

• Graphic design and artwork services
• Creative, illustrative and social photography
• Large format poster output
• Advice on the University’s visual identity for print, merchandise and public display

Location and opening times

We are open from 9.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and are based on the ground floor of the Fielding Johnson Building South Wing.

Our charges

We are a cost recovery service and our hourly rate for artwork is £33. In addition, you will pay for materials used in the execution of your work. We are very happy to supply quotations before starting work.

When you request our services please supply a valid University account code so that, when your job is complete, we can debit your account accordingly.

Design for print

(excluding recruitment brochures)

Design Services produces design and artwork for all kinds of communication material from traditional print to display graphics, such as pull-up banners. We work closely with Print Services and selected external services and will manage your job throughout the artwork-to-print process.

We have wide experience of all types of printing and output technologies and can source and produce imagery, including photography, to suit your communication needs.

As part of the Marketing and Communications Office we are in a good position to ensure that your communication supports University brand values and is fully compliant with the visual identity.

Recruitment brochures

We also create the artwork for undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment materials. However, in the first instance it is essential that requests for brochures are made to Sam Winter in the Communications Team, sw171@le.ac.uk, ext.3613.

Sam will ensure that your copy is up-to-date and that your publicity will be effective in engaging and recruiting students. Once Sam has ensured that your copy is ready he will liaise with Adam King who will arrange a designer for your work. Your recruitment brochure will also receive Sam’s final check before it can proceed to print.

Designs for the web

Web page design is the responsibility of the Web Team. However, if your communication will take place online as well as in print, we will work closely with the Web Team to ensure that they have all they need to translate your design to the web. We also work with the Web Team to develop the University’s visual identity in a coordinated manner.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Prospectuses
