Avoiding plagiarism

Online interactive resource

Don't cheat yourself

'Don’t cheat yourself’ is an online interactive resource designed to help you to understand what plagiarism is and how to avoid it. There are different versions of the resource available tailored to the needs of different subjects.

Click on the subject closest to your own to get started.

Please note: The resources have recently been updated to reflect changes in contact details and, more importantly, changes to the University's regulations and penalties for plagiarism. You must ensure that you are familiar with these regulations, as they apply to all students.

Note: your browser may warn you that you are accessing a secure site, this is because the tutorials are hosted on a secure server, just click accept/OK.

Can't see the subject you're looking for or want your own version?

The above resources have been produced in close collaboration with academic departments: we provide the generic content; departments provide the specific examples used in the online quiz. If you can't see the subject you are looking for, please contact your department and/or your personal tutor for further advice and guidance. In the meantime, you may find it helpful to choose from a related, or similar, discipline to yours which also uses the same referencing system. If you are not sure which system your department uses, you can find this our by visiting the Library's guide to referencing styles.
