The Maths Help Service is staffed by Piotr Jelonek (Maths Help Adviser):
'My name is Piotr and I am currently completing a PhD in Economics at the University of Leicester. I hold master’s degrees in both applied mathematics and economics and have extensive experience of teaching and tutoring in maths and statistics. I will gladly help you to develop your mathematics and statistics skills. I am able to provide help with a broad range of areas, including linear algebra, probability, statistics, hypothesis testing, econometrics or calculus, and maths as it is applied in social and biological sciences. I am also able to help with many more advanced topics.'
The Maths Help service will not 'check' for the accuracy of work ahead of submission, or provide you with 'the answers'. Instead, the aim is to enable you to deal with maths-related questions and queries more confidently and effectively. Occasionally, queries might fall outside of the remit or expertise of an adviser. In such cases, you will be encouraged to seek additional help from your department.
