Maths help

Advisory service

The Maths Help Service is staffed by postgraduate students from maths and statistics-related subject areas. Maths Help consultations provide you with an opportunity to discuss maths and statistics related queries and to work through practical examples and simulations so that you can apply the skills learned to your own study contexts.

The Maths Help service will not check work for you ahead of submission, or provide you with 'the answers'. Instead, the aim is to enable you to deal with maths-related problems or queries more confidently and effectively in future. Occasionally, queries might fall outside of the remit or expertise of an adviser. In such cases, you will be encouraged to seek additional help from your department.
