Off-Air Recording
What we provide
A service to record television and radio broadcasts for non-commercial educational purposes without infringing copyright .
The University holds a licence with the Educational Recording Agency (ERA) which allows recordings of broadcasts as teaching resources. (This does not include Open University programmes as these are covered by a separate licensing scheme).
What you can expect
Recordings of television/radio broadcast media provided to you in the format of a DVD/VHS/CD as required.
What we expect
Bookings and requests for services should be made as far in advance of the broadcast as possible.
Service availability
Off-Air recording facility is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week – however bookings must be made in advance of broadcast and can only be set between AVS opening hours which are outlined below

Monday–Thursday 8.30am-4.30pm
Friday: 8.30am-4.00pm
