What we provide
We install Microsoft Office 2010 under the terms of our license agreement
with Microsoft to staff and students IT Services managed desktop PCs. We
automatically deploy patches, updates and security fixes to this product. As
part of the Campus Agreement, this software can be installed on any University
of Leicester-owned or leased PCs. If you require this software for a
University-owned PC that is not managed by IT Services you should consult your
Campus
Departmental Nominee.
What you can expect
All IT Services managed PCs will have Microsoft Office 2010 pre-installed.
This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook configured to your University
email account. Office will be automatically updated.
What we expect
We expect you to abide by the conditions of our license agreement with
Microsoft. As agreement is a leasing license which the University negotiates
every three years, we expect you to remove any components of Office if
instructed by us to do so to meet the terms of our license.
Service charges
Microsoft Office is integral to your IT Services managed PC, so there is no
charge for this. If you require a CD copy for installation on a University-owned
PC that is not an IT Services managed PC there is a charge of £3.00 per CD.
