What we provide
IT Services offer advice and support on all aspects of making your CFS Desktop work for you. We offer three levels of service:
- The fully managed desktop support service available to departments who have opted into this scheme. This service covers all interventions required during the lifetime of IT equipment: specification and purchase, installation, configuration, installation of additional specialist software and eventual disposal.
- Advice and support to departmental IT support staff.
- Student Open Access PC facilities.
What you can expect
Whichever level of service you have access to, you can expect high quality advice and support delivered by professionals who are experts in the provision of a desktop support services.
What we expect
The use of this service is subject to University of Leicester Information Security Policy.
We expect you to provide us with clear, concise information when requesting support for your desktop. This enables us to identify quickly what support we can offer you and help us to deliver this to you in a timely fashion. We also would like you to be available to answer any questions we may have relating to your query.
Service availability
Advice and Support services are available between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Access to the University's central computing services are normally available 24/7. The service is 'at risk' during service at risk times Tuesday morning 7.00am until 9.00am and Thursday evenings 6.30pm until 10.30pm but you will receive advance notice of work during these times likely to affect this service.
Service charges
Charges for this service are not levied on individuals.
Costs to departments who opt in to the fully managed service will be negotiated prior to opt in.
