What we provide
We provide an email service based on Microsoft Exchange 2007 and an email account for use in all correspondence concerning your work, research or studies at the University of Leicester. This service is available to all staff and students of the University and allows you to send and receive email and to store your email within your quota.
What you can expect
From a campus-based Open Access PC or private client (staff PC), you would normally access your email via an email client such as Outlook 2007. From off campus you would normally access your email via Outlook Web Access.
What we expect
The use of this service is subject to University of Leicester Information Security Policy.
We expect you to ensure that any device you use to access the email service is secure, free from viruses and patched up-to-date. The easiest way to achieve this is to use a computer on our managed desktop service, CFS, where possible. We expect you to set an appropriate password and to keep your password safe to prevent unauthorised access to your account. We expect you to read and observe the University's Electronic Mail Policy with regard to your use of your University of Leicester email account.
