Description

Website Production and Support

The Web Team in IT Services provide technical support for the University's website. They also offer a design service for departmental websites and can help with the organisation and structure of information for the web.

Conference Technical Support

Audio Visual Services can provide virtually any technology to enhance a conference, from an overhead projector to multi-media equipment or multi camera recording facilities. Technicians may be booked (if available) to support conferences during the week or at weekends.

ResNet

ResNet is the internet service provided in University Halls of Residence. ResNet is provided by Keycom.

Office Telephony

IT Services provides a comprehensive telephony service which is available to all staff. 

Mobile Telephony

IT Services manage the provision of mobile devices (mobile phones, PDAs and PC 3G cards) provided under the University of Leicester contract with Vodafone.

Video Conferencing

IT Services offer a video conferencing service throughout the world to venues which also have this facility. This service provides two way vision and sound using either ISDN or IP communication.

Calendar

IT Services provide a calendar/diary service as part of the Microsoft Exchange 2007 email service. This service is available to all staff and students of the University and allows for scheduling of appointments, booking meetings, checking free/busy times and sharing of calendars with other people.

Email

IT Services provide an email service based on Microsoft Exchange 2007 and an email account for use in all correspondence concerning staff and students work, research or studies at the University.

Campus Network

IT Services provides a comprehensive campus wired and wireless network. It is a vital resource to the whole University community, both on and off campus. The campus network is managed on a day-to-day basis by the Data & Voice Network Services Team in IT Services.

  Subversion IT Services provide a Subversion revision control service, which helps track changes in source code.
