Linux

The HPC systems run Scientific Linux, a clone of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), which provides both a command line and graphical environment.

The command line

The command line environment is referred to as the Shell.

Modules

All users should be aware of Modules. This is a linux software available which helps to ensure that users have access to all of the software they need, using the versions they require without conflicting with other applications installed on the system.
