This document is intended to assist system administrators responsible for any number of Linux hosts to improve the security of their systems thereby making them more resilient against future attacks.
Network Time Protocol Service
Network Time Protocol (NTP) is a recognised internet standard for accurately and efficiently distributing time among a network of computers. JANET provides an NTP service to which the University of Leicester is allowed to make a limited number of connections. This documentation explains how this NTP time service is made available to departments and, to a limited extent, to individual workstations.
