Activate a Wi-Fi Visitor Account

Visitor Wi-Fi accounts need activating before they can be used.

Visitor accounts are necessary only where visitor institutions do not support eduroam Wi-Fi .

To activate your Wi-Fi visitor account you will need the Unique ID and visitor key provided by the member of University staff who applied for the account. Activation can be undertaken from the Wi-Fi network itself; or from any device with an internet connection.

Activation on campus using Wi-Fi

  1. Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on on your device. 

  2. Open your web browser. It should default to the University of Leicester Wi-Fi login page, but if not, type in https://uol-wireless.le.ac.uk/
  3. When prompted for a CFS username and password, enter wnet for both the username and the password.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Having read the Rules and Regulations, tick the box on the right of the page to accept them and click Continue.
  6. Type in the Unique ID and Visitor Key previously supplied to you, and click Submit.
  7. Create a new password as requested.
  8. Log out from the Wi-Fi network
  9. Login to the Wi-Fi network using the Unique ID as your username with the new password you just set

Activation from elsewhere

  1. Open a web browser and browse to https://wads.le.ac.uk/cc/wirelessnetwork/wireless_home.html.
  2. Click Continue.
  3. Having read the Rules and Regulations, tick the box on the right of the page to accept them and click Continue.
  4. Type in the Unique ID and Visitor Key previously supplied to you, and click Submit.
  5. Create a new password as requested.
  6. Login to the Wi-Fi network using the Unique ID as your username with the new password you just set
