SAP Architecture Refresh - Information

During 2010 we are investing in SAP to improve its performance, reliability and user experience

What is changing and why?

Currently SAP is served to users on equipment that is 7 years old and at the end of its reliable life. The SAP Architecture Refresh Project, will move the SAP service on to new equipment which will provide a more responsive and reliable service laying firm foundations for the future.

The main change that you will notice is the way in which you access the application for the first time after the change, since the user ‘front-end’ is being upgraded at the same time to the latest version.

While the changes might take a little getting used to, we are confident that you should find the improvements worthwhile.

What difference will this change mean for me?

Availability

The changes took place successfully over the weekend of 21st and 22nd August 2010.

SAP users were  notified by email when it became available on Sunday morning.

Functionality

There will be no change in the functionality of any of the SAP systems. This is a hardware related change only

Access

The mechanism for accessing SAP will change; and existing desktop shortcuts will no longer work.

How will I access SAP from now on?

Start  > All Programs > CFS Software 2 > SAP Frontend > SAPLLV
