New staff

New StaffWelcome... we hope this information helps you to get started with the IT services at Leicester. If you have a desktop PC in your office it will probably be set-up to access CFS - the Windows XP/Office 2007 central computing service managed by IT Services.

You will need a CFS account. If this has not been provided contact the IT Service Desk to ask who your Departmental IT Contact (DITC) is. Your DITC must request a CFS account for you. With your CFS username and password you can login to CFS from any Staff or Student PC. You will have access to your personal and secure filestore and a wide range of software. Please check with your department what arrangements are in place for printing.

Note: There are a few departments that don’t use the CFS service and for them different arrangements are in place.
