Improved wifi on campus

Significant improvements to wifi have been made by IT Services, to install 567 new Wireless Access Points in 274 locations across the University campus.

Wifi has been improved in teaching rooms and locations with high usage of wifi. There should now be one Wireless Access Point for every 25 students. In addition, wifi has been improved in areas following feedback from staff and students.

There are now over 1250 access points on campus. Improvements have also been made so that many more people can connect to wifi simultaneously.

What is a Wireless Access Point?

Wireless Access Points are the hardware devices that are installed across campus. These allow you to connect wirelessly to the Internet.
