Launch of Visitor wifi provided by The Cloud
All University visitors will now be able to access free wifi when they come to campus. Visitor wifi will be provided by The Cloud, a BSkyB company, which will be simpler to setup and use than guest wifi currently.
With the average UK adult spending almost four hours a day online or on non-voice mobile and tablet activities*, wifi is vital to prospective students, their families, guest lecturers, researchers and those attending University events.
Use eduroam wifi if you can
If you study or work at the University, you should setup and use eduroam wifi. Go to eduroam-setup and follow the instructions. Login with your University IT account email address and password.
If your colleague or guest is visiting the University from another institution that provides eduroam wifi, they should follow our instructions for how to connect to wifi for visitors. This will show them how to prepare to use eduroam when they visit the campus.
If you have visitors coming to the University but they can’t use eduroam wifi, you will no longer need to apply for them to use uol-guest. From 12 December 2014, they can register with Visitor wifi provided by The Cloud instead. Shortly after this time, uol-guest will be no longer available.
