Success for University High Performance Computing
Following on from the nomination for Environmental Project of the Year, the University has won two further awards for facilities supporting research.
In November 2011 the Physics Data Centre project was a finalist in the 2011 UK IT Industry Awards, run by the British Computing Society, in the category of Environmental Project of the Year.
We are pleased to announce two further awards for High Performance Computing (HPC) provided by IT Services and led by the Research Computing Services team.
Winner: Cloud Project of the Year
On 7 December 2011 ALICE won the award for Cloud Project of the Year at the Storage, Virtualisation and Cloud awards.
Winner: Leadership in the Public Sector
The Physics Data Centre won the award for "Leadership in the Public Sector" at the Data Centre Leaders awards on 15 December 2011.
