A response to HP's announcement of PC business evaluation
You may have seen today the announcement by HP to "explore strategic alternatives" in relation to their Personal Systems Group which includes their personal computing equipment business.
The University of Leicester has just signed a new framework agreement with HP for the supply of our desktop and laptop PC’s for the next 3 year period. We are currently unaware of any proposal by HP which would alter our intentions to continue with HP on the basis as we agreed.
We are already seeking to minimise spend on new desktops and laptops for the remainder of this calendar year due to our preparations for rolling out Windows 7. This means that we have time to evaluate the impact of changes when they are announced by HP.
