SAP/Lucre changes that may affect your department/section - Monday 6 February
SAP is being reconfigured to provide the University with improved data security on 6 February which could affect staff access.
What
The SAP system (which includes LUCRE) is being reconfigured in order to provide the University with improved data security. As the changes affect mainly the underpinning of the service, it is anticipated that after this work is completed most users won’t notice any change while using SAP. However, SAP is a sophisticated system and even though IT Services have worked closely with experienced SAP users from across the University, predicting and testing every eventuality is not possible. Should problems arise these are most likely to relate to loss of access to particular aspects of SAP.
Why
We need to carry out some work to improve the security of data within SAP.
When
The reconfiguring will take place on 6 February before the start of the working day.
I have further questions, who should I contact?
Please contact the IT Service Desk by telephone (0116 252 2253) in the event of a problem to have the issue expedited to our specialists; alternatively you can email ithelp@le.ac.uk. In such situations you will then be contacted by an appropriate Corporate Services SAP expert to resolve the problem.
This process should ensure that these important data security changes are implemented with the minimum of disruption. However, should you wish to discuss these plans please contact Jacalyn Hutchison, IT Services Project Manager, x7790.
