Removal of FrontPage - 1 September 2010

We will be removing centrally installed (CFS) copies of FrontPage on all staff PCs on Wednesday 1 September. This will not affect any locally installed version staff may be running.

Turnitin not available - 6:00pm 4 September - 2:00am 5 September 2010

The Turnitin service is being upgraded overnight on the 4 September. While this takes place, no access to Turnitin will be possible either directly or through the University's Blackboard service.

New releases of some applications for staff - 6 September 2010

We are releasing some new software initially to staff members - these will be available from Monday 6 September. The older versions will still be available but we encourage any users of the applications to migrate to the newer versions before the older ones are removed.

University's Wireless Network unavailable 6 September 5pm - 6pm

The University's wireless network will be unavailable on Monday 6 September between 5.00pm and 6.00pm whilst we perform an essential upgrade to this service.

Charged printing & photocopying service unavailable, 2 September 10:00am - 1:00pm

We need to update the printer drivers on the charged printing service to a new supported universal print driver, this will also disrupt the photocopying service. This work will take place on Thurssday 2 September between 10:00am and 1:00pm.

Streaming Media Service unavailable 1 September 10:00am - 12:00noon

The Streaming Media Service will be unavailable whilst we move the service from one server to another on Wednesday 1 September between 10:00am and 12:00noon.

Webmail service unavailable - 9 September 8:00am - 8:30am

The Webmail service (Outlook Web Access) will be unavailable on Thursday 9 September between 8:00am and 8:30am whilst we carry out essential maintenance.

New release of Stata 11 Research Update - 14 September

We are releasing an updated version of the Stata 11 Research Update this will be available from Tuesday 14 September after 4:00pm. This version fixes the corrupt file that is present in the current version. In addition this will provide us with the latest updates for this particular application.

Online Payment services briefly unavailable - 12 - 13 September

There will be two brief outages to the online payment services on Sunday 12 September and Monday 13 September between 2:00am and 3:00am for approximately 20 minutes each time whilst Barclaycard carry out routine maintenance.

Update of Chemdraw licence - 20 September

We are updating the licence for ChemBioDraw 11 on Monday 20 September.

New release of applications for all users - 21 September 2010

We are releasing some new software to all our users that was originally pre-released to staff only. This will be available from Tuesday 21 September. The older versions will still be available but we encourage any users of the applications to migrate to the newer releases before the older ones are removed.

Many central IT services unavailable, 6.30pm 23 September

Most central IT services will be unavailable while we carry out essential maintenance work, between 6:30pm and 9:30pm on the 23 September.

University website unavailable - Wednesday 29 September 8.00am - 8.30am

The University's website and all internal webpages will be unavailable on Wednesday 29 September between 8:00am and 8:30am whilst we carry out essential maintenance.
