New version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) - 5 November 2010
We need to install a new version of Java on Staff and Student PCs. For most users, this will take effect when they start their computer on Friday 5 November.
Logins to central student record information are changing - 11 November
If you access centrally held student record information (through the SITS e:Vision web application) then from Thursday 11 November you will need to use your normal CFS password to login.
New versions of Flash and Shockwaver Player available - Tuesday 16 November
We need to install new versions of Flash Player and Shockwave Player on Staff and Student PCs. For most users, this will take effect when they start their computer on Tuesday 16 November.
Removal of old versions of Dreamweaver 8 and Google Earth 5 - Tuesday 16 November
We are removing the old versions of Dreamweaver 8 and Google Earth v5.0 . If you are using the older versions, you will need to migrate your preferences to the new versions before Tuesday 16 November.
Collaboration service in Blackboard now available
The collaboration service within Blackboard, made up of the virtual classroom and chat tools, has now been made available to all users. This facility was disabled when Blackboard was upgraded in August due to technical issues.
New version of Adobe Acrobat Reader - Friday 26 November
We need to install a new version of Adobe Acrobat Reader on Staff and Student PCs. For most users, this will take effect when they start their computer on Friday 26 November.
IT self service portal unavailable - Tuesday 30 November 7:30am - 9:00am
The IT self service portal, used to submit and track requests for support from IT Services, will be unavailable next Tuesday between 7:30am and 9:00am while maintenance work takes place.
Regular maintenance work being carried out on Turnitin
We have been informed by Turnitin that they will be carrying out essential maintenance work every first and third Saturday of each month. During these periods Turnitin may be unavailable.
