What

There will be two brief interruptions to the University email service (Microsoft Exchange / Outlook) on two separate days.

Why

We need to install some important updates to the University email service over the coming weeks and this is part of that work.

Who

Approximately one third of email users will be impacted by this work on each day. We cannot be specific about which users will be affected - however if you were affected by the work on the 18 February then you will not be affected by either of these two interruptions.

When

The interruptions to service will take place on Tuesday 23 February and Thursday 25 February. The first time each day will be at 11am for approximately 5 minutes and the second will be at 1pm for approximately 30 seconds.

What do I need to do?

If you are using Microsoft Outlook, you may notice it reports it has lost connection to the service - once the interruption has ended it will automatically reconnect.

If you are using other forms of access (Outlook Web Access, IMAP) then we would recommend you avoid using them for the short periods indicated above so as not to risk losing any work.
