Early closure of Service Desk - 3.00pm 5 August

To allow for staff in the Service Desk to receive training for the updated Blackboard service we will be closing earlier than normal, from 3.00pm, on Thursday 5 August.

Software update to Staff PCs - 5/6 August 2010

We need to release a new version of some important software, needed to run certain applications (including the SAP client) on staff PCs. You may find your PC takes slightly longer to start up on the 5 or 6 of August while this takes place.

Fluent application unavailable, 9 August 10:00am - 10:30am

We will be updating the current licence of Fluent available on all platforms between 10:00am - 10:30am on Monday 9 August 2010. This will result in this application being unavailable for use during this time.

Colour and Duplex printing unavailable - Resolved

A problem has developed with our Student printing services preventing printing in Colour, or with Duplex. We are working to resolve this at present.

2010/11 Calendar unavailable through ePortal - RESOLVED

We have now resolved the issue affecting access to the 2010/2011 calendar via the ePortal, this is effective 4:15pm 6 August.

Telephony in buildings on North Campus unavailable – Friday 13 August 7:00am – 8:00am

Estates need to carry out some work that will result in some departments on the North campus not having any telephony between 7:00am and 8:00am on Friday 13 August 2010.

Blackboard Upgrade 10 - 12 August 2010

Blackboard will be upgraded to version 9.0 during the summer vacation and will be unavailable to all staff and students from 2:00am BST Tuesday 10 August until completion sometime on Thursday 12 August.

SAP unavailable - weekend of 21 - 22 August 2010

Important maintenance work will mean that the SAP service, including Lucre, will be unavailable over the weekend of 21 - 22 August. Once this work has completed there will also be a change to the way SAP is accessed.

New releases of some applications - 23 August 2010

We are releasing updated versions of some software applications - these will be available from Monday 23 August. The older versions will still be available but we encourage any users of the applications to migrate to the newer versions before the older ones are removed.

Blackboard 9.0 currently unavailable - RESOLVED

We have now resolved a number of issues with regards the upgrade to Blackboard version 9.0. There are still a number of issues outstanding however, these do not affect the availability of the service. Availability is effective from 12.00noon 13 August.

Many central IT services unavailable - 6:30pm - 9:30pm, 26 August 2010

Most central IT services will be unavailable while we carry out essential maintenance work, between 6:30pm and 9:30pm on Thursday 26 August.

Telephone Service Fault - 26 August 2010 - RESOLVED

A fault has developed on part of the central telephone service which has caused approximately 250 extensions to fail. We are working to rectify this fault urgently at the moment.

Blackboard unavailable - 27 August 2010 (RESOLVED)

A problem arose with the 'content collections' functionality within Blackboard on the 27 August. This was resolved by 5pm on the same day.
