eduroam wifi is available on campus and in University halls providing free access to the Internet for your laptop or mobile phone.
Visiting another institution?
If you are a student or member of staff and are going to another University that supports eduroam, you can connect to the internet there. eduroam wifi allows access at thousands of participating institutions worldwide, and many in the UK.
Visitors
eduroam wifi is available for visitors who use eduroam at their home institutions. Alternatively temporary access to wifi is available.

- University Webmail
- Blackboard
- Library catalogue
- University files (Personal Z: drive, Research R: drive and Deparmental X: drive)
- ALICE and SPECTRE Linux service, via secure shell (ssh)
Technical information
The following types of traffic are permitted when using University wifi:
- HTTP (web)
- HTTPS (secure web traffic)
- SSH (secure shell)
- IMAPS (secure imap)
- Most VPN clients will also work over the Wi-Fi network
