Chat and Virtual Classroom
You can use the Chat and Virtual Classroom tools to communicate with staff or students in real time. Chat is an instant messaging tool, allowing participants to send messages to each other. The Virtual Classroom includes Chat, a whiteboard and the ability to share websites and materials from the Blackboard course site.
- Create a session
Chat and the Virtual Classroom are called Collaboration tools in Blackboard. Blackboard provides two default collaboration sessions that you can use in your course sites or you can set up your own - Link to a content area
To make a course Chat or Virtual Classroom session available to your students, you need to add it to a content area in your Blackboard course site - Run a session
You can communicate in real time using the Chat feature and share information using the Virtual Classroom. You can record Chat sessions and view the recordings later
