Remove table borders

Tables can be useful alternative to tabs if the borders are removed.

  1. Select the table
  2. The Table Tools tabs: Design and Layout will appear
  3. Choose the Table Tools: Design tab
  4. Click the arrow next to Borders
  5. Select No Border

The table won’t be visible unless gridlines are showing

View table gridlines

When you remove the borders from a table, the table won’t be visible unless you switch on View Gridlines. Once switched on, gridlines will view for tables in all documents.

  1. Select the table
  2. The Table Tools tabs: Design and Layout will appear
  3. Choose the Table Tools: Layout tab 
  4. Click the View Gridlines button

Gridlines view on screen but won’t print.
