Protected View

When a file is opened from an email or the internet it will be shown in Protected View a yellow information bar appears in place of the ribbon

Applies to: Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Example used: Word

Protected View

A file will open in Protected view if you open it:

  • From an external email attachment
  • From the internet
  • From Blackboard

While a file is in Protected View you won’t be able to:

  • Print
  • Edit
  • View formatting

Click Enable Editing if you to want to print or edit the file.
