Blackboard: Assignment and e-tivity advice

While Blackboard is being upgraded you will be able to view a copy of the current version of Blackboard but any changes you make will not be kept.

During the Upgrade

The Blackboard upgrade will start on 10 July 2012 and take about two weeks.  Blackboard will be completely unavailable on 10 July and 20 July.  Between these dates you will be able to view a copy of the current version of Blackboard but if you make any changes to this copy, these will be lost when the new version becomes available.

This includes:

  • Work submitted to Blackboard (including Turnitin assignments)
  • Responses to Blackboard tests and surveys
  • Contributions to the Discussion Board
  • Entries in blogs and wikis

Advice for online MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL students
Between the 10 July 2012 and 20 July 2012 you may continue to use Blackboard as usual, including forums, e-tivities etc, as your course instructor will be taking steps to retain content once the upgrade is completed. If you have any concerns, please contact the course administrator, Luke Gamble.

After the upgrade

When the upgrade is complete, you will no longer be able to access Blackboard using older web browsers such as Internet Explorer 7.  You can find advice on how to upgrade to a web browser that will work with the new version of Blackboard on the Browser Advice Page.
