Add printers on my University PC if they are missing (students)?
If you can’t see the printers when you go to File > Print on your University PC then you can run the printer setup wizard to install them automatically.
View thumbnails of pictures?
On a Windows 7 University PC You will no longer be able to see thumbnails of images on network drives such as the shared departmental X: drive and your personal Z: drive.
Customise the quick access toolbar?
The quick access toolbar appears above the File and Home tab. It can be customised and buttons can be added to it. See quick access toolbar for a video and article on how to use and customise the quick access toolbar.
Add a folder as a favourite?

Change my desktop theme?

Microsoft provide OneNote 2010 a program dedicated to note-taking, which is included in most versions of Microsoft Office. It features significant advantages over Word in both recording and organising your notes. Find out more about OneNote....
Send an email to lots of people?
You can request an Email Mailing List so that you can add and maintain a list of individuals you want to send to.
Share files with other people?
Staff can use the Departmental shared X: drive, if the person(s) you are sending to is within the University.
Alternatively, if you are working on a research project you may want to use Filedrop to share files with external collaborators.
In some cases it is necessary to send an email with an attachment. You may wish to compress your files beforehand, to combine them and make the attachment smaller.
Undock my laptop?
Some computers have an eject button on the docking station. Pressing the eject button instead of following this procedure also undocks the laptop. For more information, see the documentation provided with your docking station.
Install a program?
