Costs

Studying abroad will change your life. The experiences gained, personally and academically, are priceless.

You will continue to pay your tuition fees to the University of Leicester.

You are expected to pay:

Full Year

A reduced tuition fee to the University of Leicester during the year abroad:

  • Home and EU students starting in 2012/13 and 2013/14 will pay a tuition fee of £1250 during the year abroad.
  • Home and EU students who started in 2011/12 and before will pay a half fee during their half fee during the year abroad.
  • International students will pay 25% of your University of Leicester's full tuition fee.
One Semester Full tuition fees for that year.

All other expenses including flights and accommodation will be your responsibility. These costs will vary. For more information about individual university costs see their websites or contact us at: studyabroad@le.ac.uk

Studying abroad is a fantastic opportunity to study at a well established, good quality overseas university. In most cases, you will be paying a great deal less, per semester, than the students studying there full time.

Scholarships

British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association - Student Scholarships

Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or for a whole academic year in the US or Canada.

The value of each scholarship is £500 and will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.

Applications for students studying abroad during academic year 2013/14 are now being accepted and the deadline for all applications will be the 31st May 2013.
