How to Apply

See the application process below to learn which form to use.

You must be nominated by your home university before you complete an application form.

Completing your application

 Stage1     Contact the Study Abroad Office at your home university. They will be able to confirm if you are eligible for an exchange or a fee paying partner institution price. You must be nominated by your home university.
Stage 2

Decide which programme you will apply for (exchange or fee-paying). Please see Programmes for more information on which to choose.

Stage 3

Download an application form.

If you are unsure which programme to apply for, contact your Study Abroad Office at your home university.

Stage 4

Complete the application form including specifying the modules you want to study.

Choose 60 credits per semester. Check with your academic adviser that your first choices and alternatives will be acceptable at your home institution. It is your responsibility to ensure that credits gained at Leicester will transfer and count towards your degree.

Please note: Courses are subject to prerequisites and availability. Time table clashes may occur.

Stage 5 Submit your application form
including supporting documents
:

  • Current transcript (minimum GPA 3.0).
  • Academic reference.
  • If English is not your first language, please provide evidence of your proficiency in English with an overall IELTS score of 6-6.5 (depending on course) or TOEFL iBT 90. Please note that if you require a Tier 4 Visa to study in the UK you will need to obtain at least a 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking in IELTS (or equivalent in another Secure English Language Test specified by the UK Border Agency). 
  • Copy of the photo-id page of your passport.
  • 4 passport sized photographs.

Once your application has been submitted

  • You will receive an initial acceptance by email.

  • Your application will be circulated to departments for their approval of your module choices.

  • Successful applications will receive an official offer letter, including details of your approved module choices. You will also receive a joining instructions booklet.

  • After receiving an unconditional offer, confirm acceptance of your place by emailing studyabroad@le.ac.uk

  • 24 hours after confirmation from the Study Abroad of receiving your acceptance you can book your accommodation online. 

  • Read your joining instructions carefully and return all the relevant forms.

  • If you are applying for a Tier 4 Visa, request a CAS letter from our office by emailing studyabroad@le.ac.uk
