Members of staff are governed by the Leicester Joint Agreement or Leicester Manual and Ancillary Agreement, which were introduced upon implementation of the national Framework Agreement for the Modernisation of Pay and Grading Structures agreed by the Joint Negotiating Committee for Higher Education Staff (JNCHES).
Details of key areas, such as standard working hours and notice periods, can be found within the agreement documents.
Since the implementation of Framework, the University has introduced a new statute for staff (Statute 8) and set of Staff Ordinances, which cover 9 contractual policy areas: Discipline, Grievance, Probation, Performance Management, Ill Health Capability, Redundancy, Dismissal for Some Other Substantion Reason, Removal from Office and Academic Freedom.
