Information may be disclosed to external agencies to which the University has obligations and commitments.
Some of these obligations are statutory. For example, the University must submit information to:
- Higher Education Funding Council for England;
- Higher Education Statistics Agency;
- HM Revenue and Customs;
- Office for National Statistics;and
- Universities Superannuation Scheme, amongst others.
The University also reports information to other bodies on a voluntary basis where this is recognised as being of benefit to the organisation. Examples of this include annual salary surveys conducted by the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA);
When disclosing information, the University will always comply with the appropriate legislation, eg Data Protection Act 1998. You can find further information about HR's policy on Data Protection elsewhere on this site.
